Wow, this sure jumpscred me! great job I really liked it, it had a very spooky atmosphere
The idea of the game is very nice and well made. I like the style and how scary everything gets in the corridors when the lights go out and you get hunted by the monster. One of the submissions I had most fun playing so far :)
Nice job! I really like the aesthetics!
This is why I stay away from janitorial jobs :D
Good stuff!
A pretty good little horror game. The idea is simple and fun. Overall a scarry little jam game.
I really like how you designed for the feel of the PS2, felt nostalgic! Nice ambience and feel good gameplay!
If you have time check my game out!
I get a thrill out of not being able to read when the monster is about to appear!I also love the feel of the PS2 polygons.
At first i was thrown off by the graphic, but really they are absolutly great ! I had a lot of fun playing it!
Easily my favorite game loop from this game jam so far! Fun stuff!
Not only were the mechanics easy to understand, but the walk/run/interact mechanics flowed like a charm. It had juice in this regard.
The sound was minimal, which is fine for such a minimal game -- but I might suggest a tad more, even if it amounts to a simple ambient track, to build and sustain more tension.
However, this game does have tension. We've seen it before but have we seen it with a broom in hand in a demon-possessed home?! I haven't.
I appreciate the simple graphical design of the monster, too. That can be tough to pull off, but this serves the game's purpose super well!
Great job -- I look forward to future projects!
Thanks alot for the honest review! audio isnt really my specialty so i got most if not all of them from asset packs download etc. although i do plan on sharpening my skills. I am very glad you liked it though!
Understood -- I'm currently looking for new creative teams to be a part of; if you're open to working with a musician/sound design guy -- let me know! You can check out our game for this jam to see what I bring to a project.
Have an awesome day!
Was scary for sure, I screamed a couple of times hahaha.
The ambience was very cool, having to guess if you are safe and have the time to wash the floor was cool. I could not finish it tho, since you start over from the beginning when you die, it's a bit harsh XD specially when you die from the creature being right being the door with no way of knowing it was there. My only nit picking would be that I would've wish that the camera would be looking forward instead of looking the closet when getting out of them, it was a bit disorienting, specially when you are not sure if the creature is there.
Cool game ! Had fun ! The art was cool, the ambience was there, a cool scary horror game.
I tried as much as i could to open the closet so that you could see more without it being like half way open haha. I might also add a check point system in the near future too! though thanks for the advice and i am glad you enjoyed it even when you couldn't finish it!
Scared the hell out of me, I died once, but I finished the game in a breeze :D ty for submitting this fun game!
a fun small short horror game, I didn't manage to beat it, I'm real bad when it comes to horror, liked the old school graphics, screamed a couple times, good job man!
Glad you liked it! <3
Loved the pixelated look, made me jump a few times, good job!
Here’s our submission if you’re up for some horror: https://late-night-studios.itch.io/ordinary-day
