Got CC0 assets from OpenGameArt, sprites and music. Sound generated with the SFXR tool. I wrote the code for the game.

Congrats for creating this game :)
The first types of enemies are really simple and the second one are really difficult. Maybe the gap is too big ? And you can't really dodge since they are shooting all the time which makes it even more difficult ^^. Appart from that the controls feels nice and I really like the idea of the shooter game ! Nice job.

I agree, originally I planned 3 types of basic enemies before the boss appears, but I had to cut corners due to time constraints. A tip for defeating a boss enemy is to attack its right wing with continuous fire while the enemy is moving to the right (or to the left if you attack the left wing) rather than attacking the cockpit. This is actually the first shoot 'em up that I encountered in this jam. Nice switch in music for the bosses.
You can evade the bosses completely by flying above them which is probably against the idea of them being challenging.
So for the next iteration of the game, try to have them turn around (but shoot less). Good work still.
Yep, you got me, that's a bug, you are not supposed to be able to evade the bosses. What is supposed to happen is that when any boss ship reaches the lower limit of the screen, you get game over. I can't upload the fix until voting has finished. Thanks for your comment!
