A jam submission

A Lizard's LifeView game page

A very much NOT COMPLETE game. Had a decent idea that I could not at all execute on. So I would keep expectations low.

How does your game fit the theme?
Well, the idea was that you would start out as a normal person, and get thrown into a new life, where you can't return to your old life because you become a lizard, and the effect is irreversible. Unfortunately, I didn't get far enough into it to even make a first fully fledged out scene. So ... yeah.

Also, I didn't upload my submission correctly, so visit it here for now: https://danny-phantom3.itch.io/a-lizards-life-working-upload

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, though that might have been a mistake.

That was an interesting Idea.

Hard to understand what is the aim of the game, and the scale is too close so we can't really see where we are and where we need to go. The place you build is quite charming though.

Developer

I can understand where you are coming from. I was barely even able to complete this prototype of the game to the jam, so I didn't put a lot of care into the level design and overall feel of the game, so it would make sense why it is a bit confusing. The day before submissions were due, I worked on the game for like 20 hours, so I did what I could, lol. But I appreciate the honest feedback, and I also appreciate the complement.

Hi, i really like the art u have here but unfortunately the gameplay needs more touching. The map is huge and i already feel lost the moment i start the game. U might want to add some minimap or some indicator to tell the player where they need to go or what they need to do. And i feel all the items are placed randomly without any  motives. Like there's 2 keys quite close to each other and unfortunately my inventory is full to pick up both of them and as a player i would want to pick up all keys since i know it is important. Maybe u want to place the key on each section where each key needs to unlock a door or somesort on that particular section. Else u can make it in a way that they can stack up like the food.

Overall great attempt here. Keep up the good work. If time is the issue may be scope it down a little bit.

Uhm, I dont want to break it to you, but you only uploaded the .exe file and not the whole Unity folder. So in summary this game is unplayable.

Developer

Lol. I didn't realize that I had done that. I can't change my submission though, can I?
