2D or 3D?

Do games have to be developed in 3D or we can develop 2D games also? I ask this because I've seen winners and honorable mentions from last game jam and all games are in 3D.

You can make both 2D or 3D games and either style can win. We had quite a few 2D finalists last time. It was interesting though, we had way more 3D game submitted than 2D games last time. (Zack)

Thank you Zack for fast response. Phew, it is a relief that we can submit 2D games also. Well, I think that Buildbox 3D is becoming more and more popular and people gravitate more towards that. I'm sticking to 2D (for now) because personally, I like that 2D charm more. (Marko)
