I really like the little wizard guy and their animations, Nice! I also like the idea that the area shrinks as you take damage and that you can squeeze more potential hits if you stick towards the center. I wish the player and their bullets were a little faster, though reading the other comment it seems you planned to increase the stats. Sounds cool!

it seems like a cool consept. as far as i can tell getting ingridiends and mixing potions currently doesnt do anything? but it sounds like it could be a fun gameplay loop.

the animation on the character is great.

Thank you! Yeah the player's stats do change, but the stats don't change anything tangible yet. As I keep working on this, I'll make it so you can tell what each potion does, add several spell variants,  boss fight(s), and maybe some special potions. Even though the Jam is over, I'm not done with this project :).

is it after youve made a potion you get to know what it does? i like the idea of experimenting with differend ingridients and just seeing what you get but i dont know what your vision for the game is

Developer

The effects of each potion are determined by the ingredients you put in it. Some special recipes will be hard-coded in, and there are synergies between certain components. I might add a "recipe book" that records what potions you've made, what ingredients you used, and what effect each potion had.

The effects won't be revealed before you drink the potion. Unless you've used the same recipe.
