Play game
Moonlord's itch.io pageTheme
The climate on earth was so bad, that everyone left and now they're fighting for control of new worlds. The Moonlord faction is pro-pollution, so the player needs to prevent that faction from occupying planets. But if pollution never happened, then humans wouldn't be a space-faring species so it asks the question- does innovation solving what seems like our greatest issues today, create new issues tomorrow? So because of this question, we want to give players a chance to play as the Moonlord faction to face internalized and deep rooted emotions that lead to pollution.
Optional: Scientist Teammate(s)
I am both a game developer and a scientist who studies a species of bird that lives near oceans and the impact that weather patterns over time (climate) have on this species of bird. On a daily basis I collect samples from these birds and conduct tests on these samples.

Interesting little game! I had a bit of a difficulty understanding my progress. I occupied a few planets but I wasn't sure what the win condition was (if there is one). Maybe I didn't play for long enough.
I also thought the connection to the climate issue wasn't that strong or apparent in the game itself. Even if it can be seen as a jumping off point for the games setting it didn't seem to have much impact on the games story or mechanics.
The art looks very nice and the space travel feels fittingly difficult to control!
Thanks for the review. The implications of climate change are subtle but you need to look at the planets themselves. You come from a healthy world suited for your species, but you see warning signs of what your world could become like a desert planet, or a water planet, or a gas giant. If you don't pay a high enough tax rate to your government, your world could turn into a gas giant 17 times the size of your current planet. That's a warning we all need to take very seriously.
