I'm obsessed with otters, and I really like the idea of basing your art style off of Gris. However, I would like to see more visuals and concept for your game such as concept art and storyboards. That way I can get a better understanding of what you plan to do for your game.

How does your concept engage in the jam's themes?
I wanted to mainly focus on "Telling the stories of climate justice that aren’t often told" and "Breaking out of the dialectic of pessimism (too gloom and doom) vs optimism (too rosy). The real world is more complex!". I found this story and decided it was the perfect inspiration to tackle these topics. I think that if executed correctly, I can create a game that well addresses the issues in Nigeria and bring a nuanced perspective to climate change and its effects.
Use of Theme / Inspiration
In high school, I took a geography class where my teacher would often bring to light stories around the world that were not well known (at least to me). I wanted to do the same and create an intimate and immersive story that shines a light on a real problem. The primary themes are environmental justice and human impact and responsibility. What's compelling is how a big burden of environmental damage lies on marginalized communities and how there is an urgent need to address these issues as they affect everyone and everything. These themes are incorporated into the game through environmental storytelling. With the game being in the perspective of an otter, the player will be able to observe the damage on humans, the environment, and wildlife, and also the kindness of humans that want to help.
