Heck, even submitting a game is like a major achievement in my mind! Plus, like the jam overview page suggests: if you're stressed during the jam, you're doing it wrong. Just have fun!
Game Jams can no doubt be a lot of work, but you'll likely learn a lot and get more dev experience under your belt by trying, even if you decide not to submit it!
Honestly, I say go for it! If you can't finish the game, so what? Just release it later! Come last? No problem! There's no prize or money! And there's no punishment for coming last!
