Hello Guys, Welcome to Warrior Tycoon
I just saw this challenge a week ago and thought it would be something to practice my skills and have some fun and make a decent game in just 8 days without overdoing it.
As time was limited, I didn't do as much marketing aka Twitter and Facebook as I usually do when I develop something.
My schedule was set for about 8 hours of work per day, starting at 4pm and ending at 12pm / 01am. In the last 6 days I developed a text and image based tycoon game with a small gameloop.
Warrior Tycoon
Warrior Tycoon is a text and image-based tycoon game where you train warriors and send them on missions to earn gold and find items and resources. Master your training and craftsmanship and train the most powerful warriors in the land.
Day One Process:
- Time Manager - Controls the days and sends events to all listeners when the day, month and year have passed.
- Warrior Training Manager - Basic concept of training manager to start adventurers and send them on an adventure when completed.
- Warrior Adventure Manager - Basic concept to send a warrior on an adventure for a certain number of days.
- Start creating the user interface for each manager
Day Two Process:
- Kingdom Treasury - Receive loans and repay loans from the kingdom, pay monthly interest on loans and annual taxes based on random tax amount and players' total money.
- Finalize basic user interface for all game loop managers.
- Mind Map - Created a mind map with the connections of each class to get a better overview of which classes interact with each other and what they process.
Day Three Process:
Off - I Did absolute Nothing!
Day Four Process:
- Population System - Population is increased and decreased by the average age of the population and the number of citizens.
- Basic Balancing for the Population System
- The population system changes the adventure manager variables so that more or fewer adventures are available during a year in a kingdom.
- Adventures - granting money, different difficulty levels of adventures and the number of days it takes to complete them. Hook up user interface and warrior training manager.
- Creating the Itchio page

- Class experience, class level, training time,
- Added training panel - masteries.

Easy Audio, Unity Asset for Audio Controller in 5 Minutes
I have implemented Easy Audio for audio control. The menu can be opened with Escape during the game, but there will soon be an interface for the settings. The asset is available for free on Itchio and allows your players to control the volume of your game.
Wikipedia Setup
As I plan to continue developing Warrior Tycoon after the jam, I have set up a Wikipedia page for the game with information around it.
