@Local Minimum. I agree the level design doesn't ease you in but it is a jam. If I had time for a tutorial and keybindings yeah I probably would've done it.

@Anton. In hindsight, arrow key controls should've been added in. Thanks, I'll check it out.

Played and rated :) It was very hard for me, I didn't reach far. Very evil when the first turret got 6 hacking rows. I wasn't really fond of the controls. I personally would rather run with the arrow keys and do stuff with my left hand, it felt a bit crowded. Nice atmosphere and good idea though. Check out my contribution if you like :)

I think one major thing you are lacking here is a way to ease the player into the game so the player can get accustomed to controls (would have been nice to change mappings too) and dynamics of character and world. The sentry and turret come way too early. First the idea of hacking should be introduced in a safe environment. Then one type of enemy, then other, then both.

Tried some times and I never managed to hack a thing and survive. I saw Jupiter play and she got passed first door, which was way better than I did.

So in one way it is hard to rate the game as I barely got to see the first seconds of it. But it is a common issue with jam-games, that they are too hard to early on (mine included). Hope you do a new easier version for us without super-mad skills.

Took a look, you probably should've used the EMP blast (E) which stuns droids and turrets for 5 seconds. Would've made it a lot easier.

Nicely mad game, though it is a bit hard for me :P I included it in part 17 of my Cyberpunk Jam compilation video series, if you have time to take a look :) http://youtu.be/_CZQQkRaf3Q

@Zarkonnen thanks for reporting it. Apparently the version of LWJGL we use + Java 7 isn't supported well enough on Mac. I've uploaded a Mac version that runs on Java 6.

Hey, this looks really cool, but I can't get it to launch on OS X. Here's a stack trace: https://gist.github.com/Zarkonnen/9563374

Thanks Slowpoke ;]

I love this game. The lighting and hacking is awesome!
