I really like the idea of an adventure gridder, but I hated, that this was an installer and I did not care for the stamina bar. These types of games are slow enough already, there has to be a better solution for the survival tension. But still, I liked playing this one :)

i really liked the music and vibe. i died real early, and once i died, i was trapped on the title screen forever, which would restart whenever i  hit a key.

you can blame blackmageuk.

Developer

Thanks for playing. Yes it is bug I had no time to fix, as the intro and outro was last thing I did before deadline. You need to restart game completely if you want to play again...

I like the theme and art style, the cinematic opening is a nice touch, very 80s sci-fi. Mechanically it's pretty sound, took some trial and error working out I could go through the 'electrical' barrier and where to use the wrench etc.

In the end I could't navigate the alien without getting murdered, but I did manage to see the end of the game by clipping through some walls (of course this is a bug, but hey its a jam game so to be expected!)

Overall enjoyed my time with this one, a little rough around the edges but it's clear you knew what you were going for in tone and scope. Well done :)

Thanks for great feedback. Im glad you understand what i was aiming for. Spoiler - to distract the alien you need to shoot flare gun AND have flashlight turned off - maybe its too much but i left it that way...

My pleasure! AAaahh, that would have fool them!

Nice survival game. I'll play more later. I like atmosphere of 'Alien' :)

Developer

Thanks for playing! The Alien was one of the main inspirations for sure!

Couldn't quite figure out why I kept dying at the first door :( The vibe was pretty good though

After the explosion, there is fire moving towars you, its not very noticable, unless you turn back, as the fire makes no sound - had no time to create it. You need use the wheel (2x) to close the door, before fire gets close..

I really like the graphics and general vibe! Good title screen and ominous bass notes to set the tone, as well as good background noise and effects every now and then.

I kept dying before opening the first door for reasons I didn't quite get, but if I moved fast I got past that part.

Do you need to find the map to be able to use it? M didn't work for me. I got to the Motion Tracker and died a few times there - the escaping gameplay there seemed pretty interesting actually and reminded me of Alien, but after dying a few times and not having a map it got a bit tiresome to go back to there each time to try again.

Very fun game, took me several retries to eventually do it, I miss those adventure games where you're constantly put under pressure.

Developer

Thank you for comment. Im also glad that you took time to play it till the end.

I liked the adventure-like elements, but constantly running away feels out of place in this genre.

Developer

Thank you for playing, its true that there is not much rpg elements... Maybe its more adventure game witch dungeon crawl look...

That's not necessarily bad -- I think you can end up with a grid-based System Shock-style game if you keep pursuing this concept.

seriously though i just walked around and didnt find anything besides walls

Developer

That is strange, you should be able to find some items on the ground or interact with some objects...
