Deciding to Join

Day 1 - 10/3/22

I am a mechanical engineer who wanted to try my hand at game development. Today I joined the jam and decided I wanted to make a first-person horror game in Godot. I spent several hours searching for videos online on how to set up the initial programming. Over the next few days, I am going to write and get basic programming set up with placeholder assets that I will replace later when I have time to make them myself. This is probably an over-ambitious project, but I want to do this just to rip the band-aid off so to speak. Wish me luck!Godot Tutorials

Amazing! I'm a mechanical engineer too and game programming is a hobby of mine. Godot is a good choice for an engine since it is easy to use and extremely well documented with tons of tutorials to boot. For me, I started with blender (wayy before they discontinued the blender GE) which is a lot harder in my opinion, but now I only program games using python.
