A limerick can be quite hard to write,
But here are some that will give you a fright.
(When I review I actually prefer
To write iambs in a pentameter.)

I'm not going to write a response as a limerick as that's one skill I do not have! (I don't know how you do it to be honest.) I'm not sure but I think there might be a bug after the blessed end link? (I'm not sure if it is meant to go dark/blank due to what's happened in the story,  or if it should have an end like the others?) Also, I'm really curious now,  what's a wampire? (I looked it up thinking it'd be a kind of vampire of some description and google told me it was a rock band which I'm pretty sure is not the case here.)

Edit: Just had a scroll through the other comments and saw the black screen was on purpose so disregard :)

It's just like a vampire, but spoopy.
And thank you for being my groupie!
So now I'll proceed
to sit down and read
some Paolo T. Bacigalupi.

Thanks for the reply (and the limerick :D )

As a big fan of Limerick Heist,
I also found this one quite nice.
These patterns of speech
make a memorable niche
Fun, sideways-thinking, concise.

I quite liked this game
but I am still not sure what
a limerick is. Help?

Developer(+2)

this sad ignorance
can only be remedied
by more limericks

At times this game was more funny than spooky, but it had some dark/spooky elements to! As someone who enjoys humor more than scary I didn't mind.

Really enjoyed the twist when you kill the vampire and the branching after that. There did seem to be a dead page, but it seemed intentional since you died? I also felt like there were SO MANY OPTIONS at the end, but there were only 3 or 4 endings. A bunch all led to the same page with no differences, at that point you could just have one less option, but it was good none-the-less.

I am really impressed that it is all done in limericks. Some were better than others, but the whole game was 100% in a limerick, well done!

Yes, you and the page are both dead;
you totally picked up my thread.
Thanks for reviewing,
as well as for clueing
me in re the ending-branch spread!

The scansion was sometimes a stretch

Which seems fine for a four-hour sketch;

The tone, while surprising,

Was clear from apprising

The content note that you could fetch.

On blessed relief when I harked,

I found only a screen full-on dark.

On purpose? A bug?

I must leave with a shrug,

And rate other games--what a lark.

:)

(Good job pulling this off with consistency on the limerick front. My favourite part was--oddly--the description of the fridge's contents.)

On purpose. Such blessed relief
contains only darkness and grief.
A "HEY YOU'RE DEAD END"
would not really blend
in well with that somber motif.

The gameplay was simple but fine

For a 4-hour game made in twine
But I think your rhyme scheme
Clashes badly with theme
I was just looking for a fun time
