Ferrylous Journey's itch.io pageTheme inspiration
We interpreted it as a civilian trying to escape from hostile waters while trying to save others allies.
You command a ferry ship while avoiding enemy patrols and recovering other castaways from neighbouring ports.
It's similar in conception to Dunkirk, but seen from the POV of an allied boat (obviously not as deep nor elaborate, but we did our best in 48h, :D).

First playthrough: "Oh! this control scheme is like sunless sea! I can get used to this." "I've managed to dodge everything but where are the soldiers? Are they around here? No, this is a dead end and now all I can do is reverse while that turret is free to fire at me. And now I died having saved no one."
Second playthrough: "It's raining when I'm in the middle now? And there's soldiers in the sea! And... what is this shiny circle? That's a lot of people on my ship. what if I go back now? FOUR THOUSAND SOLDIERS?"
anyway I ended my first playthrough with nothing, my second with 8400 soldiers saved. It was fun! The only thing was I was surprised that I didn't take any damage when I rammed the pier at full speed.
Nice pun too.
I really liked this entry! It's clearly a very polished team effort that has produced a little thing upon which one can further expand and even try to make it a fully fleshed game! Good work!
I have played the game, really liked! If I had to change two things on it, first would be the speed system. Having five predetermined options for speed instead of a speed scale you can adjust to wherever you want felt really annoying sometimes. The second thing would be making the map bigger, cause I really frequently crashed into the peripheral colliders. Good job nonetheless!
I tried it twice. First time I got only 100 cause I rammed a ship on accident. The second time I got 8200 cause I tried saving a stranded group next to a torpedo boat.
I think the ship controls are nice, but I don't think they fit in an arcade-ish game. I think I'd prefer either faster gameplay or more narrative objectives. Still, the visual style is nice to look at.
Thanks for the feedback, we have tried to make a more simulated control, in order to create a skill challenge for the player. Thanks again.
