I took the idea of a rite of passage and stretched it to allow the extra challenges to make sense. I then tried to include various instances of things, abstract or concrete, being passed around as part of the ritual and set the game in passages in a mountain pass just to add more interpretation.

I liked the aesthetic of it and having to manage two different characters. The control scheme is a bit convoluted and your cryptic, poetic instructions did not help. Like others I died several times without understanding why until I figured out that my mouse was sending the butterfly directly into the first set of spikes. I also didnt figure out how to open doors. I restarted once so I could re-read the instructions but still didnt see it. I really thought the game was broken until I read everyone commenting on how long the game was that I went through and hit every button on my keyboard. J really does seem like a random choice for that function. The platforming gets challenging and rewarding as you go on and you really put a lot of good, hard work in such a tight timeframe to make this a really rewarding platformer. I liked it. Good job.
Really fun platformer that was longer than I expected, but I enjoyed every second of it. I really felt the feeling of teamwork between the two characters and the different ways of moving them around was enjoyable. The game mechanics were easy to learn and fun. The music and textures were great as well.
First off I wanna start off by saying that this was a much deeper game than I thought when I originally pressed play. I originally thought that the flying guy that follows the mouse was an npc because it kept falling into spikes and resetting the level. Once I figured out that the full use of the keyboard and mouse was required it really was an interesting control scheme to figure out. I particularly liked how this game seems like it can be played co-op but is still able to be completed in single player.
Second main point I want to touch on is the music. I saw the a comment on the music before going into the game but was not expecting there to be such a variety of different tracks! I couldn't even find the time to add sound to my game so it was quite the surprise when the music swapped and then did it again once I progressed further. Speaking of which.
This game is so long for a game made just over a game jam. I got to that part where you do that thing with the stuff outside the window (trying not to spoil too much) and thought it would be the end but then it kept on going. The difficulty got pretty high as well. Toward the end of the game the platforming was just about as precise as I can take but I managed to pull through. Props to having a complete conclusion to your game as well.
I have a few things that could have been improved on:
Overall great job! This was a surprisingly well done game that had depth that I was definitely not expecting on first glance.
Very interesting game. The art, music and gameplay go very well together.
I love the cat animation. Well done.
Nice game, love the music and not a little impressed with the amount of extra challenges.
I did however find 2 bugs one which soft-locked me and an audio related one
the soft-locking happened in the first level with moving platforms. The fairy got trapped between three of them like this ==>
The audio one seemed to happen when a card struck a corner of a tile and, i think, it repeatedly played the audio every frame.
I don't know how feasible a fix is with the time remaining. But in any case nice game and nice jamming with you :)
Thank you for playing it and giving feedback. Ugh, those dang moving platforms again. The amount of bugs they generated was enormous. Regarding the audio issue, did the card hit a block that was sitting still or one that was moving? Also, did the issue stop on retrieving the card?
I can imagine that the platforms are a pain. Audio-wise, the block was stationary and the audio stopped/went back to normal when the card was picked up.
Thanks, I know what the problem with the was then. I don't know how to fix it properly, but the quick fix version is easy and should be good enough.
