Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 5!

I jumped in with a lot of excitement for another horror game in the mix! For a jam game, it was pretty fun to play. The dialogue felt a little weird, since I didn't feel like it fit where the game is supposed to take place. I liked the multiple endings and use of multiple characters who behave differently, though I did find it ridiculous that Kyosuke's hands being covered in blood wasn't enough evidence.

I've only seen three endings so far (A, B and C), so I'll have to keep an eye out for the other two.

Because this was a jam game, it's hard to feedback. As such, I'm going to give my feedback on the basis that you will be expanding this concept.

I already mentioned the dialogue, but the models and their movement felt weird. They didn't feel proper. Some may enjoy this, but I'm not one such person. XD

The voices used all feel... well, bad. Chiyoko's voice was obvious just didn't match the personality nor what she was doing, and the monsters felt very... well, I felt like they were snorting and snoring. XD

Finally, the combat felt awkward and hard to do. Like, it felt hard to aim while monsters just ate away at me.

Overall, I like the concept and I'd like to see it expanded into a full game.

A lot of the points you brought up are spot on actually. The movements have been reported as looking a bit weird since many of them were just default supplied Unreal ones which are kinda hit or miss for some people.

Voices is also a valid point as I only had two specific archetype voice libraries. Which were tough quiet dude (not really matching Kyosuke and more Taichi) and oneesan voice (def not Chiyoko and more fitting for Sayaka) but it's all I had on hand at the time since the aforementioned voice libraries were actually for the protags of another game I'm working on (and there the libraries fit the personalities). I suppose I could have left them silent.

Combat was as good as I could have gotten it in such short notice. You should have seen the very first iteration of it before the jam got a 2 day extension that allowed me to turn it into the current one. I'm not disagreeing with you however, it absolutely can be improved with more time.

I'm not sure if I'll turn this into a full game or make a sequel. If anything I mostly wanted feedback since some of the concepts I applied here, I will be applying to the other aforementioned game since they have slightly similar concepts and feels to them.

Thanks for the thoughts and thank you for playing.

For a Game Jam submission, this was a really well constructed game. The dialogue was good, the game play was smooth, and the story was engaging. The camera movement could have been smoother but was still pretty good and intuitive and handled walls and corners decently. We had a lot of fun with this title and we'd love to see a longer sequel.

Glad to hear you had fun. I'll check out the VOD later today if it's up. Apologies for not being there when you live streamed it. Timezones basically put it in the ungodly hours of the night for me. XD

Looks a really great game!! I like it a lot!! Good job working on it :D

For me the only feedback than I have is than I want to see this be a complete game and not a jam one, the game have potential and a great story to work on it to make a full game

Good luck in the Feedback Quest 5 jam!!

Haha, yeah I like the new art too. I wasn't originally gonna bother but I had enough people donate for the game I was like fuck it why not get a proper custom art of it instead of the placeholder free to use mask. XD

oh great to hear! That's testament and a milestone of your popularity as a dev. :D
