Is there some sort of legend about occult anthrax that I'm not aware of? The text implies that it's unusual to encounter anthrax that's "alive," when it's been developed as a bioweapon in reality. It feels like FIST is supposed to expect people with tentacles, especially with the Anomoly Hunter wanting a head for his wall, but when someone says anthrax to me, that's not exactly what I think of. Is there something I'm missing here?
That said, the adventure is otherwise clear and wonderfully succinct. It's pretty clear from the outset how it should be run.
Not as far as I’m aware. Anthrax is real life is an infection caused by bacteria, so arguably anthrax in real life is “alive” as well.
I didn’t really put much thought or research into how Anthrax in real life works for this mission. (though I kinda wish I did, it would have been fun to make the players have to use PPE or whatever)
I more just took the idea of Anthrax being sent though the mail (something that happened in real life) and went “what if the Anthrax turned people into zombies instead of killing them”.
