Once the jam begins, you can share your progress here!

No I wont

Ok, maybe I will

I'm glad this is a long jam...got my first part done:  procedurally generated post-apocalyptic skyscrapers.

The idea of this game is that the "Thing We Lost" is our mastery over the earth.  Next to create the procedural "creeping vegetation" that will threaten the player.

Sweet, I'm really digging the art style you're going for! What engine are you using?

I unfortunately went under a bit of online radio silence due to unforeseen reasons, but I've been learning Pico-8 and am making a (solo) adventure game about losing sight. I've implemented most of what I need to actually craft levels, so this is getting ever closer to the exciting part!

Thanks!  Love your screens too!  I'm using Unity, just easy for me to throw stuff together in that.  I've now implemented a vengeful earth that grows and consumes the city, making it harder to gather resources, resource gathering and a bit more atmosphere.  Still lots to go, but playable...just not super fun yet.  Trying to set up really difficult decisions the player must make where there really is no good decision.  Fun stuff!

We're at the halfway point everyone! Why not showcase what you got so far? It's ok if you're still in the early phases!

I've got most mechanics down, but I still need to make a game out of them haha. Boss and level design are next!

Yeah, I lost all momentum on my entry.  I still can't get growing vegetation to look interesting and the game is simply not fun.  Ah well...

Holy shit, I thought the deadline was tomorrow! Good thing I took a look at it now at 4AM! I uploaded it and just capped it off at the end to make it complete but I wanna add some stuff to it

HostSubmitted

Are you still awake? If you can, I would upload the game as html instead :)

Submitted

I tried to redo it - the html and JS files are there but it won't show up nicely as a ready-to-play game

HostSubmitted

It works if you zip them together (and make sure your html file is called index.html)

Submitted

Ah dangit. I changed it again but forgot to zip it, now to check if i can do it despite it being locked down

HostSubmitted

It's probably possible to update your game from your itch.io page?

Submitted

Yeah, looks like it I'm taking a look right now

Ah, it looks like it working. Insert "it's something" meme here. Is it allowed to update the game post the deadline? I still wanna work on it

HostSubmitted

Feel free to post updated versions, it's a friendly competition after all.

i'll be fair and not upload until the feedback period expires
