I think terror management theory might go some way to explaining reactions to anti-capitalism and/or pro-capitalism ideas as they are both concepts which potentially supply a sense of  immortality through death denying fantasy (Ernest Becker). This is why you might want to put  your sunglasses on or take them off from time to time.

As I am interested in taking on the challenge of making a game that takes a critical look at the dominant global system most of us are trying to survive in, let's put our sunglasses on and explore four interconnected beliefs that probably need looking at, and that might provide inspiration: The American Dream, Meritocracy, free will and the self.

Let's start with some comedy: The American Dream

Then, Meritocracy (Term originally coined in a dystopian Sci fi novel: The Rise of the Meritocracy)

 Myth of Free will

The Self Illusion

What's the self illusion got to do with capitalism? Warning 4-hour mind-warping documentary! (Edward Bernays to Tony Blair)

So, any game ideas for dreams, merit, determinism,  selflessness and happiness machines?
