This game started out REALLY slow but became oddly mesmerizing as I played longer. The basic loop of planting crops, harvesting crops, and selling them is nothing original. As you buy more plots, seeds, boost your speed, and a second farm stand to sell crops to, the feedback loop speeds up to the point where you're always doing something. I could have kept playing but I got to the point where hitting the $500 goal was too easily attainable. The game could be fleshed out more but it's very derivative of other games out there. I can tell by the intro the creator is a fan of Stardew Valley.

Good overall use of the theme and a strong feedback loop along with the cute presentation and music. Solid entry overall.

thanks for playing and for your feedback!

I knew $500 would be pretty easy to get to and didn't want to make it too long of a game (since it's just a jam game). But was thinking of adding an "endless" mode or "timed" mode (where you try to get as much money as possible in a set timeframe), just didn't get around to it.

And yes, I'm a huge fan of all farm simulators lol!

Nice game with relaxing music and it also manage to make me think about what to buy next,

anyway, do u still need help on setting how to build WebGL unity so the screen size will do just fine on itch page? Or it is just some mistake and u already figure out the solution, Or you just intended it to be like that?

Developer

thanks for playing!

Yeah I’ve always had issues with webGL, usually it just take some trial and error to figure out what dimensions I need to build it in so that it fits the webpage (while also not being distorted or the UI in the wrong place), and this time I didn’t have the time to work it out. I thought it’d be better to have the screen too big and have everything look as intended than too small and not look as good.

Only able to rate by the screenshots (browser build wasn't working and generally I don't go downloading games off of itch, nothing personal just a general policy), but I can tell you've done a decent job at a bare bones Stardew clone. :D

Developer

oh that’s weird. Was it not loading for you? Or was it the screen size?

I ask because if you zoom out of the browser and enter it in full screen mode it should run just fine!

ok played it, took like a minute to load.  still good.

oh good glad you were able to play it! :)

Really liked the style of this game! I would love to see a timed version of it a bit like overcooked, I can see that being really addictive.

Developer

thanks for playing! :) I thought about having multiple different versions (an infinite mode & timed mode) but I started too late and didn’t have time. Great suggestion though, so thanks!

Nice that you even had time to  create how to play demo. And  liked the shop section. Forces you to think about making strategies.  Should I add a plot first or should I make it faster first? Market stand? Naah probably I don't need it. Too expensive :))

Developer(+1)

definitely some strategy involved in this game! Thanks for playing! :)

It takes a bit to get going, but cute concept! Reminds me a bit of Stardew Valley.

I love Stardew Valley and other farming games so that was the first thing I thought of when the theme was “fresh start”. Thanks for playing!

This was fun! One thing I should note: the screen size in this game was awfully big. Even at fullscreen the game had scrollbars in my browser. I loved how you handled the theme, by the way!

yeah I found if you enter full screen, then zoom out of your browser, it's a much better experience! (CTRL -) I haven't been able to perfect webGL builds in Unity quite yet. Or I have downloadable versions as well.

Thanks for playing! :) I'll be sure to check out your game as well!
