Beat Phaser is a hybrid of the Top Down Shooter genre and the Rhythm Game genre.

The art style is amazing, the city looks great as well! Was a bit lost on what to do tough not sure where rhythm mechanic is

The idea is to click to shoot in time with the beat, this increases your score multiplier and damage the longer you successfully stay on beat. It's explained on the main game page too.

Wonderful visual work, I loved the character and city design.

The gameplay worked well and I'd like to see this game make the rhythm aspect even more central to success; right now it feels like an aspect of the game you can engage in if you want, but you can also just succeed by clicking and shooting bullets everywhere.

We agree, with the difficulty ramping up over time we think the damage multiplier does make the rhythm aspect important later on, but it takes a bit too long to get to that point.
