Clever! We really like these kinds of automaton control type games. We didn’t get very deep into it, but it was very well-polished! Really nice graphics, and the puzzles were put together well.

Great job!

Really Impressive and polished game.

An interesting idea. Funny mechanics.
The only way to make the entry level a little easier was to do it. It is too complex and there is no way to go back one step.

Wow / Nice combination puzzle genre with :Leaps and Bounds: theme.

Thank you for playing ^_^

This was a great game.  Great level design ( Carry On Walking = COW. Loved it).    Great Music.  And the game had a world map which was very amazing. Did not really feel like the game matched the jam theme leaps and bounds, though.  This may just be because I didn't get far enough in the game to where the cows were leaping I guess?

Developer

Haha. Unfortunately no leaping cows in this game. The LEAPS were the paddocks and the cows are bound together inside them. I prbablyh could have made the theme a bit stronger. Thanks for playing!

I love to see people try making proper puzzle games. I've tried it a few times before but I've always found it difficult to make fair puzzles under a time constraint. A couple quick comments (from having played world 1 only):

  • I think there is way too much stuff here. It probably would have been better to trim down to the puzzles that you thought were the most exemplar (although I'll still try to get around to playing through everything!)
  • The mechanics encourage too much indirection: one cow controls another cow controls another. The puzzles feel mostly like an exercise in running through mechanics in my head. I never feel stuck, just flustered when I lose track of the pieces in my head, and so there's never that moment of insight either.
  • The tutorial is too much text. It is humorous, so I can forgive it a little bit, but it is not useful for teaching the player. I'd rather the game teach by letting the player experiment with the mechanics.

Hopefully this doesn't seem to critical. This is actually one of my favourite entries, and I'll definitely come back to try some more puzzles later.

It's definitely an unfinished game. I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the feedback!

Really cool game and funny interpretation of the theme. As the others have already mentioned, the puzzles are a bit difficult at the beginning. But I really enjoyed it!

thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

This is my favorite game of the jam so far. The puzzles are so good and I love the dialogue although it does feel a bit long winded sometimes. I completed the first 7 levels only to be shocked that there were more worlds with more gameplay types, I'll definitely be coming back to this once I have more free time.

Cheers! The game is still very much incomplete, and some of the levels were designed for later worlds, meaning the difficulty spikes early. I was hoping to play your game, but unfortunately I only have a mac.

I see, do you plan to continue development later? And sorry for only being available for one OS😣

Yes, I was hoping to work on this game again in January once the judging is over, so maybe finished by February.

Amazing! My favourite game so far in this jam! Huge satisfaction from completing levels that seem impossible at first glance.

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

I made it to world one. Really fun challenging puzzle!

Developer

I was worried that it was going to be too hard, but I'm glad some people made it to the later levels.
