After almost 5 months of searching for this game, I finally found it by chance.
It was a very beautiful game, the level of the challenge is great how to walk forward and shoot over the shoulder towards the back.
What really saddens me is that my younger brother (the designer of this game) passed away on 08/23/2021. He was very young (1994-2021).
In fact, until this moment, I still did not realize that he had left this world.
This is really nice, I love the art and monochromatic theme of it, and it was fun running around trying to shoot everything down. That moon/planet looking enemy sure turned it into feeling like a bullet hell all of a sudden, and I liked how it changed things up. I'm surprised this doesn't have more ratings at the time of writing this, I certainly think it merits some more.
I'm sad this doesn't have more rankings! It's a solid entry: It's 3D, has a nice and consistent aesthetic and a simple gamplay loop. You even managed to add upgrades and a boss fight (or bosses, I don't know cause I couldn't beat Saturn).
There are two things worth criticising here: One is that controls aren't explained (except on the pause menu that I've found while writing this!), so you may not immediately know how to point, shoot or dash. The second one is about readability. You may have noticed this yourself, cause enemies have a white glow/trail. It's hard to see where the player, objects, enemies, etc. are. I'm not sure how you'd fix this, since I'm no artist, but maybe change the lighting or adjust the contrast between objects and background.
Anyways, this was a good game. Not incredible, but REALLY underrated. And it needs those ratings to stand a fair chance against the other entries. I hope you get them in these days. Make some noise!
Nice game! You really managed to come up with a very appealing aesthetic: the whole presentation of the game and its page, the menus and most importantly the game world itself really stood out to me. I especially like the grain and other post-processing effects you added to give the game the old-timey effect. I find the look and feel of the game really turned out very well.
And the gameplay itself is also great! I had a lot of fun kiting the enemies around and trying to pull off the trick shots in order to dispatch them. You did a fantastic job making them stand out with the flare particle effects and having to aim over my characters shoulder was challenging but became more manageable with practice (unfortunately my skill in this kind of game is limited so I didn't make it that far, but I'll probably come back for another crack at it!).
My criticism here would be that I did have trouble with losing my crosshair and reading the characters rotation in a tense moment caused undue difficulty in my opinion. I feel like it might almost be worth breaking the black and white colour palette to make the crosshair really stand out! I really love the fact you managed to incorporate an upgrade system, but despite that I felt like the boss enemies were a bit too tough. As a minor technical note, I thought I'd point out that its not possible to install your game via the itch app because you didn't have the .exe file directly inside the .rar, so I had to download it manually instead.
All in all, I can't believe that I'm the first one to comment on your game, since it certainly deserves better and I hope the good ratings start pouring in!
