Beautiful environments and awesome transitions. I didn't know what to do so I think your game could benefit from adding a tutorial and having some kind of lighting or other cues to indicate what is clickable.
Also, if the player couldn't progress to another scene until the selected the desired object.
I like the transition effect, too bad for the missing animations, and above all I didn't understand what I have to do
Hi. Thanks for the comments. The goal is to find which object goes to which girl, complete the puzzle so they can reach the epilogue of their journey. I agree that it's quite difficult to undesrtand the whole picture without visual and audio feedbacks and, of course, without animations. But I'm working on it ^^
Great idea! Took me some time to realize what i need to do, after reading a comment about spamming space, understood what i need to do and actually completed the game! I admired that you took that important and actual theme for you game and support you with that!
About game, actually, T-Poses made me have a laugh for some time, and maybe, as some easter egg, add some characters t-pose in background? But, if seriosly, i didn't understand clear what happened to every girl in game, but with some additions like animations to the game it can be easier.
Decorations in that game are wonderful, every location is memorable and beautiful, with some work with lighting they will look exceptional! Enjoyed your style with 3D-modeling very much, good job!
About mechanic of replaying, it may require some additional work, but if you can add something to each replay, so you don't look at the same scene with some additions for entire playtime, it will be great. Maybe speeding up every scene, where you can't act, so you spend less time just watching? As an idea, you can make something like QTE for helping a girl.
Also, it will be nice, if you make character hold object in hand, that she picked up.
Picture in the end is awesome, it was really heartwarming final!
Great work, would love to see this game evolve in its final form!
Hi. Thank you for your feedbacks! I'm glad to hear that the choice of theme means something for you too :)
Of course, the actual state of the game doesn't represent the original aspirations. I plan to start creating the characters animations during June, to avoid the funny part of T-Poses everywhere. Ideally, I would like to replace the UI elements by diegetic signs, and I guess adding animations should help a lot to reach this goal.
The easter egg suggestion is awesoem, I will definitly think about it XD
About the mechanics, I agree that it may require some additional work. Except in the first picture (where Anna tags the shop window with the punk slogan), there is nothing. My idea is to add visual and audio feedback every time you try to help a friend, even if it's not with the right item.
I want to keep the gameplay as simple as possible to be able to reach non-gamers persons but the idea of QTE is appealing. Maybe something like « Ok, you can take 2 or 3 spraypaints and use them wherever you want, but each try will consume one object ». So you can't just spam each picture and have to understand each girl's feelings, behaviours and hobbies. And there are funny animated scenes when it's not the right item.
As you can see, there is no shortage of ideas. I have to schedule this now ^^
Hi! Glad to read your detailed reply! First of all, good luck with development! Sincerely hope you can achive all your goals and make the game you want!
Thought about gameplay and want to share an idea with you, maybe replaying day will lose it's progress, something like Groundhog day, and to complete you need to find a strategy to help them all in one try. It'll still keep that mechanic of helping each day, but will involve more thought process, cause you need to do everything at right time with right tool in one run.
But i see, that you try to make game reachable for non-gamers, and that's great goal! In that case you really want to make game as accessible as possible, maybe diegetic signs is great way, but you sure need some UI elements, something like which button to press, just to keep non-gamer in an environment where he understands what everything works.
Also, loved an idea that there will be funny animated scenes when failing to use item!
Again, good luck with your work, surely will follow your game!
Great game would love to see where you will take it! will be keeping an eye out
Thank you!
What i like
- i love the level design
- I like the music choice
- love the art assets
Cons
- Too bad there weren't any animations for the main character. or anything in the background. you could check out mixamo adobe they have premade animations and rigging apparently.
I'm not sure about the game play. I spammed space and nothing really happened and then my character jumped off a building ?
Overall I think it could have been a great game if you have more time. but good job anyways !
Thank you very much for your comments.
I uploaded a new version with better anchor presets for the UI and subtitles to understand the story and know when to spam space ^^. It should be a much more playable experiment now.
About animations, background, colors and lightings, it's definitely a problem of scope. I had planned to use Mixamo but was unsure of how to export correctly armatures from Blender to Unity. So I preferred to finish the gameplay than the arts. But I'm on it for next months XD
Good job at finishing your game!
I don’t get it though… maybe there is some bug? I just have a person in T-Pose flying right and if I press space some thing sometimes pops up…
I don't think there is any gameplay bugs remaining: it's just a puzzle game where you have to give each item to specific characters. Unfortunatly, I had troubles with the Cinemascope camera format during the build and some parts of the environment and the UI elements are hidden. So that makes the whole game really difficult to play right now T_T
And the T-Pose flying stuff is just because I planned too much animations but I didn't have time and skills for that XD But I will continue to work on it for the next few months!
Alright. With the subtitles and the UI that doesn't fly off the screen, it should be much more playable :p
Now I can rest a bit and plan the remaining work ^^
