When I reached the start button, I did not immediately realize that I was not dying, but restarting the game, lol. :)

I'm sorry but I do not call this a game, not sure if this is supposed to happen, there are a lot of bugs in there when u go so fast or out of the bounds, this happens
for the gameplay: from what I understood you just got to hold D to run forward, and spam W to kill those enemies. there are a lot of bugs in there when u go so fast or out of the bounds, this happens
also no UI to show health, score story, or anything
the reason I came here was to understand what the theme meant, you said my game isn't following the theme, so I wanted to see what u mean
still, I do not see anything close to the theme in here. no death or beginnings? how is it following the theme
There is no purpose in the game. At first I was going to add health indicators to characters and enemies but gave up. I noticed this error after installing the game. Not sure if there is a bug fix now. It doesn't really reflect the Jam theme, but I don't think it's irrelevant. Thanks for your constructive comments :D

I loved the aesthetics and the moody music. Didn't really get what I was supposed to be doing but moving really fast when you jump was fun. There was some weird distortion or tearing at the top of the screen when I jumped, I don't know if that was intentional? Also when getting teleported back to the start, there was a black bar along the top. I'd put in a fade to black to hide the transition
Some feedback, either a sound effect or something when attacking would have been good, I didn't really feel like I was doing anything and it wasn't necessary to kill the enemies - which I guess goes with the purgatory theme. A certain futility is to be expected
