Name of the book/theme your game is inspired by.
Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus / Death & Other Worlds

Tell us how your game is inspired by one of the BBC Novels.
'Build A Monster - A Frankenstein Game' is a 2 - 4 player, 'Print-and-play' Tabletop game. Each player is an Evil scientist who has unlocked the secret to Frankenstein's Reanimating power!

The game is designed to teach you more about the book, Mary Shelley the author, as well as other information about popular culture and films that have been adapted from the book since its release. It's designed to be completely printable, to keep it as accessible and as reproducible as possible.

I was first inspired to choose 'Frankenstein' by the engraved illustration that is on the front of the book (which is in Leeds Libraries Special collections), as I thought it was really creepy, and I thought it would suit the inky, greyscale textures you get when you print or photocopy something in black and white!

I think 'Frankenstein' as a Novel is pretty amazing, given that what started as a competition between friends to write a ghost story ended up becoming one of the first ever Science Fiction stories ever written. Mary Shelley's Legacy as a writer, as well as her un-conventional life for her time is really interesting, and definitely something that more people should know more about!

I just absolutely loved the artwork in this game and it was so clear and accessible. I would really like to use this game alongside the old copy of Frankenstein from the library collections. A fantastic way to introduce people to gothic literature!

Love this. I feel like I could just play it straightaway - the instructions are lovely and clear. It's great that it's print and play too - more accessible. The text is really thematic and it looks fabulous.
