Give a brief description of your game:
You're a mystical being that seeks to fix a few communication towers to save a little girl, all while racing against the clock

What controls do you need to use?
Arrow buttons for movement, Up arrow or Z button for jumoing, X button for punching

How did you bring the theme of Time into your entry?
You complete the game before the time indicator runs out

What was the most interesting part about making the game?
How the enemies don't move despite all the code I had put in XD

Hi Jupiter Hadley, I can see why you couldn't finish the game, as I had (wrongly) assumed that every player would read the text on the game's page before playing said game; I'll be rectifying this either over the next few months or a year, and I thank you for pointing out how I can improve on the game further :)

Hi Hob! As a fellow Construct 2 dev, I want to say well done on finishing the game. I really liked the concept, and it left a smile on my face.

There are a few improvements I can suggest to make the game better. As Keyb said earlier, letting the user press a button to move on text is definitely a good idea. To do this, just add the keyboard object in under "Add new object". Then in the event sheet, write "On key pressed (Space)", and add another condition. Then the second condition should be "If [NameOfText].text = [Previous piece of text]" Then the event should be "Set [NameOfText].text = [New piece of text]". Just do this for each line of text, and you're good. 

The other thing is that you can use effects to embellish the graphics a bit. Don't worry if you're not a graphic designer (I'm not either). Adding in a flash of something when the creature at the end comes in would really make it more dramatic. Possibly a screen shake as well. If you're using the scrollto behaviour, just go to [Character]-[Shake] in the events.

Otherwise, I think you did a great job, and I can't wait to see how you progress in the future!

Thank you for the warm compliments, Shandy; the only things I've modified post-submission was the text changes, slight editing of the main character's animations, as well as movements for the creatures you encounter at the towers :)

Yes, that would be most helpful for future games, though I'm probably going to leave it out for the current game jam that I'm taking part in, which ends this weekend :p

Yes, embellishing the graphics would go a long way in making my games more rewarding to play, though that is another thing to add in if I have the time during the current jam I'm in :)

Hello Hobcramwork, just finished your game. I'll leave some feedback, and I hope you don't mind.

 The story and theme looks interesting, but it flows a bit too fast: I believe adding a way for the text be scrolled when the player presses a button, so that they have enough time to read, would be a nice addition. 

 Also, since the game is very simple, I don't there's a lot more I can say... maybe that the jump feels a bit floaty, but that is only my opinion. Looking foward to your next games, to see how you'll develop!

Hi Keyband, feedback is always welcomed; the only trouble is that I sometimes don't get any :o

Ah yes, you're the second person to point that out, and while adding in a button to scroll the text would help, I currently don't know how to do that. Once I do, it'll be added in, so for now, I'll extend the time each block of text remains visible to the player :)

Oh no, not more floaty jumps! :o I thought I had gotten rid of that in my template file, but it seems I was wrong; another reason why it seems floaty could be that the character sprite is itself a little small. Once I've fixed that problem and a few others (enemies not moving, a box that persistently refuses to disappear after finishing off the enemies etc), I'll upload the game again.

It's okay, IMO jams are exactly for learning new things and learning from our mistakes. I'm sure your future games will be better, each one with more effort and care than the last. Also, you're welcome!

Yes, they help you to decide what you can put in or not put in within a small time frame, and you get better at it over time.

Hi faultyplan, were you referring to the sound effect being played when you run out of time? It's the 'Wily Ship' sound effect from the Megaman section of SpritersResource.com :)

Did you enjoy playing this game that I put together? Any thoughts on what you liked and didn't like about it, and which areas could be improved on further?
