How does your game match the theme?
The Aliens lawn has a limited amount of SPACE before it gets full. So you need to keep it empty so there is still SPACE in his lawn. If he runs out of SPACE his lawn gets overrun and all the grass gets eaten

Game was a bit repetitive. I think it needed more meat on the bones. I respect the effort though. Goodluck with future games.
Great job for your first game and game jam! I thought the idea of beaming up cows was pretty funny and fun, wonderful idea. :) Had a good gameboy soul so far as I could tell, only thing lacking would be sounds and a bit less repetitive music in that regard. Also laughed at how fast some of those cows were. LOL All that said you got a lot further than I did for my first jam, congratulations!

I know you downplayed the art, but the cow sprites are adorable.
One mechanic you could try is the cows getting fatter from eating the grass, and therefore being worth more points when you abduct them. That adds a bit of risk/reward to the game as players would avoid catching the cows as quickly as possible.
BTW, I used Godot and had the same screen size issue when exporting to web. Changing 'Canvas Resize Policy' to 'Adaptive' under the HTML export settings fixed it for me

That would be a fun mechanic yeah, I wanted to do something with that when I was making the game I just got in a little bit of a time constraint and realized I did not have the knowledge at that time. It is something I want to add to the game later though.
Great first game! I think you could improve it by adding powerups to mix up the gameplay a bit and increase replayability. The cow sprites are adorable :D

Thank you!, I agree on the powerup part that would be a fun addition and improve/lenghnten gameplay a bit. I might add this later when I get the time and get more experience. Thank you, I really tried on the cows as they were pretty much the main part about the game :D
