Title pretty much covers it, any limitations on inputs other than simulating up,down,left,right,A,B,select,start?

No limits on inputs. The only restrictions regarding the actual Gameboy are resolution (160x144) and maximum colors on screen at one time (4)

Yeah, the rules don't say anything about the input limitations. But it'll be cool to make a game only with orginal gameboy input.

To be blunt this should be a rule. It's not a huge challenge, but it's enough of a limit that it can force you to get creative.
