  • This was a fun entry! I love the aesthetic and the game has a lot of juiciness to it. It's great that there are several different enemy and level types. One concern I had is this would be right at home with a keyboard or gamepad, but it may be difficult to manage the more difficult maps with a gripped joystick, especially a virtual one. You may need to tweak some level design to be a little more forgiving since the player will not have the physical feedback of a real joystick to work with. Also, I personally found myself wanting a button for jump rather than pushing up, especially on the watermelon levels where it was difficult to handle movement and jumping with one hand. Finally, as Kr4yZ33 said, having a more explicit death notification would help with understanding what's going on, especially on some levels that you die falling in a bit only to appear on another screen, which makes it feel like you feel into another screen rather than died. Overall though, great job! P.S. Out of curiosity, was this done with the Corgi Engine? This doesn't affect the rating or eligibility at all, just that it felt familiar to another Corgi Engine game I played. :)

One note for the game: It's intended to be played at the resolution the screen is when it first opens. If you enlarge the window and you can see blue on the sides, the window is too wide, if apple man can walk into the sides and disappear from view, the window is too tall

The first time through there was a bug that made me loop at the beginning. I thought that was all there was. When I played it again, I could see a hole in the ground this time, once I jumped over the levels continued, changed my fun rating up because of that :) Looks very nice!

Ah yes, a more noticeable death animation and sounds, and possibly a visual indication for insta-death spots at certain  areas in the game was on our to-do list. Glad you liked it! :)
