I have seen many games about a platformer with only one platform but this one sticks out to me. I think changing how much you can see above you would help but it might have been your intention that the player should learn and remember the level and in that case its great.
I for one really like the slippery ice floor but i do with that the jump was a tad higher.
All in all its a great game with a good implementation of the moving a platform concept!

Finally, after dying too times sub 10 seconds, I have escaped :D

I love the game idea, but there are some points which I don't like:

  • The character control is super sloppy. What is his platform made off? Ice? How is it not melting? :D
  • The placement of the platform after the jump doesn't feel right. Maybe despawn the platform faster would solve this issue.
  • I like the graphics, but I'm not ok with you using a different resolution for background and foreground. That doesn't feel right in a pixel art game.
  • The transition between scenes could be better from the graphics point of view.

I hope my feedback helps improving your game.

Feel free to play our game ;)

Hey, thanks for the feedback!

Unfortunately, all of these issues have to do with the lack of time (Lots of job-related hassle to take care of in tandem with the jam) we had to polish the game, haha. We had a few more features planned to spice up core jumping mechanics, but didn't get a chance to code them. All of these points are valid and, chances are, we'll come back to this thing later with a big patch. Stay tuned!

Will definitely have a look at your game!

Clever use of the one platform!

Cool game. It is a bit unforgiving seeing as you die as soon as you touch anyting, but I guess that fits the "only one life" thing. Nice art  btw.
