Congrats on entering your first Game Jame! Keep it up!
For all those coming to try the game: Note that this was my first time making a game for a game jam after roughly 2 months of learning game dev. Basically everyone on my team was more talented and experienced than me, but since the other developer dropped out, I had to do all the programming myself - despite my lack of experience.
Note that my aim was only to learn new concepts and improve my understanding of developing in Unity, and so everything I made focused on that. Obviously you can review and comment whatever you want, but please keep this in mind if you do :)
Thanks for playing!
I do not understand the game...
Me too, sir, me too.
I couldn't really make heads or tails of this. Sometimes pressing up makes me float and sometimes it didn't. I never saw the theme-fitting mechanic because I would die in seconds from hitting a non-threatening looking wall. the controls are just impossible
I think the controls are easy, it's just not at all clear what you're supposed to do and when the "perspective" changes, so you're just pressing buttons hoping the right thing happens. I also like the comment of the "non-threatening" wall, I'll keep that in mind.
I'll definitely do better next time, thanks :)
I really didn't understand this. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing and there doesn't appear to be a way past either type of wall, since one stops you and the other kills you. I didn't find that pressing J did anything, and the timer didn't seem to have any relation to the noises the character made or whether or not I had vertical control. It's great that you were able to get a game finished though, and I wish you luck with future projects.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll definitely do better next time :)
Yeah the other guy said all the issues I had as well. While the mechanics were not great i loved the music and the ghost with a tiny knife. Good job for putting something out! Nice!
Thanks for the feedback, I'll definitely do better next time :)
Played in the browser - didn't see any perspective changing. Was fairly confusing, as after I jump I seem to have free vertical control over my character for a while.
Also, control scheme says "J" to jump, when it's spacebar. And had no idea how to get over the "spikes".
I rushed the instructions right before submission and wrote "J" for jump for some reason lol.
Thanks for your feedback :)
