How does your game fit the theme?
It is a chaotic game. It is not possible to use the arrow keys to navigate the character as one would expect. Instead, the player has to rely on a rope and a lava-gun.

To be honest I did not really got the objective, but played around with your mechanics for a while.
Unfortunately I was not able to pull some sick spiderman-movement off.
But I love the idea (grappling hook mechanics are great) and it's a nice base to expand on.
Thank you for playing the game.
I am afraid that your confusion about the objective of the game is justified. This was our first game jam and we allowed ourselves to be distracted by things that were not that important for the gameplay. The idea was that one would have to stay in the air above the lava created by your weapon with the use of the grappling hook and your weapon that can shoot lava, which cools down after a few seconds and creates a platform. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time and only created the starting 'cutscene' in mere minutes (as one can easily notice ) and we did not make it so that the lava can hurt you, which is something we deeply regret. However, we learned from our mistakes and look forward to the next GMTK Game Jams :).
such a cute art style. interesting game mechanics. inconvenient control, it is better to use WASD. hopefully there will be a full version of the game.
I really love the idea!
I just wish the colliders for grapling hook would be bigger and that it would be more energetic. That "mechinic" and static feel took the fun from the game that could be really awesome.
The originality is there, and I'd say the game is pretty out-of-control! I think the grappling hook mechanic isn't quite there yet due to the low re-use time and the seemingly elusive hit boxes of the stalactites. A graphic to indicate the direction the player should go in would be useful too. I love the unique and original graphics!
