The guy always turning to the south makes this game so much harder in an unsatisfying way

I was planning on leaving the character facing the last direction he went, but I took way too much time trying to implement omnidirectional shooting (which I gave up on), and I couldn't come up with a quick solution to make the player remain in the same direction as he was going. My knowledge with programming is rather limited at the moment, since most of the times I would do the graphics when it comes to working in a team, and because I decided to join this jam on my own I didn't really have the time to stagnate on one problem, so I had to find a way around it. I do appreciate and agree with your criticism, and I am fully aware of the game's flaws, thank you so much for taking your time to at least try my game!

Amazing that you did everything by yourself! Also props for not making the audio earapingly loud in unity lol
everything seems to work, and that's more than I can say about my game, so congrats!

The visuals and the music is overall really good. The gameplay idea is overall simple and fun. The controls is mostly okay, but it is really difficult to turn and hit the octopus arms. This is overall a good jam game.

Thank you very much for the praise, but the sounds and the song are not owned by me, they were merely edited by me. I seem to get a lot of criticism for the shooting mechanic though (LOL), I didn't expect it to be that difficult to get used to the somewhat inconvenient controls.

Really nice, I love the visual style and the music fits nicely, very straightforward and to the point. I share the same criticism that others have though, only being able to shoot while moving takes away from the experience for me, otherwise it's great!

Really cool idea of losing parts of yourself as time goes on. I wish that was on a timer? Instead of being cured with meds. But it works as is! I like the chonky scientist. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

I was thinking of going for a timer when doing the restrictions to the player's controls, but the game's outcome would be very dependent on RNG, it's true that it would fit the theme better, but from a gameplay perspective it is fairer for the player to have some kind of control over the matter.

Really nice and beautiful game. Its kinda hard to shoot where i want to, but otherwise a  fun experience.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the compliments. The inconvenient way of shooting adds to the chaotic environment created within the game, it encourages the player to move constantly, and to create a sense of urgency when a certain movement option is restricted.
