OK I couldn't get through it but nice first jam game! :)
A pretty (funny!) feature-complete turn-based JRPGesque
combatdiplomatic-exchange system! Perhaps you should've used fewer pre-existing assets to slim the download. I think you got a little power-drunk with RPGMaker's features (that's okay haha ^_^)That is exactly what happened lol. It was my first real try at a game (let alone a jam!) So I wanted to do things waaay too big for the timeline. at hand. Still got some experience from all of this. Happy you found it funny! Thanks for the review.
Very original and I won't lie; turning the UN security council into a turn-based RPG got a chuckle out of me.
It's an RPG maker game and while you make good use of it (those sprites are great), it does still come with many of the drawbacks of the engine, such as fiddly default menus and sometimes weird collision tiles (those couches were something else)
What ultimately turned me off was getting caught in a fight with the attendants to the chinese representative. I wasn't prepared and didn't see a way out, but when I died I got set to the beginning of the dialogue that initiated combat, rather than outside or even from the beginning of the game, leaving me no way to prepare or approach it differently.
Thank you for your feedback, I really didn't except any. The time limit for the jam really got me by surprise (first time I try) as you can probably see, so I couldn't really test everything out. I envisioned a lot of different thing from what came to reality, but I am happy you found the concept fun! Cheers~
Your first jam, you say! Well it was an excellent go for a first jam. I'm not just saying that, either. 18k people signed up for this and just a bit more than 5k submitted. Well done, dude.
Scope is hard to get a handle on without experience and I'm glad to see you got some of that here. The fact that you got something this finished-looking at all is a testament to your ability to adjust your scope on the fly and push something out. Again, well-done.
Coffee + No sleep helped a lot lol.
I love the feel of the game; it's such a great concept and seems to be well executed. I cant seem to get beyond the first room after the first debate though. Am I meant to be able to interact with people? Some sort of controls information would be appreciated, even if it's just in the game description.
Thank you for your feedback! Yes sorry about that, I was rushed at the end and I didn't have time to double check everything. I realized after the upload there was a bug right before the first boss battle (Karen). I fixed it, but it was already too late. Still thanks for the feedback and for testing it!
Oh wow that is a lot of text. And politics, but you put in effort, that I can tell.
Maybe a tad too much text, as I was pretty tight on the deadline (as you can probably see in the game) because of it. But, on the other hand, I knew I had to bet everything on the concept . Because the gameplay in RPG Maker is just ... meh. Hence the shitload of text.
Hope you liked it! Thanks for the feedback!
Just gonna say, the concept is a really risky one, for one like this it might be a bit smarter to have a good gameplay.
I believe you are the only person with 0 reviews.
Maybe do less politics. I will play it though, it is downloading.
Sorry, but I can't open .rar files.
Get 7Zip. Or any other archiving utility software lol
