A cool idea, but limited in its excecution: hitbox issues aside (making the knight sometimes not jump), I feel an issue with the level design is that you often don't actually need to navigate both characters at the same time- you just kill the dragon first, then escape, instead of it being a simultaneous navigation problem. Still a fun idea though.
I agree I started the jam a but late and just wanted to get the idea out there, I am aware that it has many mechanical issues and is not polished I just thought to get the concept out there
It was an ok game. It's important when you are designing for games like these, where two characters are being moved at the same time, to think about the challenges each one of them faces. Here, I ended up just using the knight to attack and the princess to escape. It would have been better if the princess helped the attack in some way, or if the knight was needed for escaping. Check Fire Boy and Water girl, a very famous game that, while it might a bit different from what you were going for, uses the co-dependency of both characters in an interesting way
That was the intended idea was to make it where their movement was dependent on each other like, you have to work your way around the level, to make sure the knight would get the dragon and where the dragon would not get the princess. I admit the level design is very raw and the game is more of just a concept. But what you are describing is the ideal structure which I will work on if I decide to polish the game. This was really more of just a concept
Very basic game, known mechanics, basic presentation. I didn't get past the fourth level, I'm not sure I'm missing something though!
I feel like you have my exact same random queue, I see you everywhere hahaha. Very good analysis in some of the games uwu
ahaha @VioletHammer! I didn't have three kids, I would open a youtube channel, "the italian gamer" and do quick game playthroughs and reviews with my thick Italian Mario-like accents 🤣🤣🤣
I think if I remember correctly you need to use the knight to go around the top platform to get the dragon underneath, I think I am referring to the 4th level. But either way, thanks for trying my game out!
