How does your game fit the theme?
There are a few ways the game fits the theme: first is the fact that it's an endless runner where you take the role of building the track instead of being the one running, second is that the game revolves around theatre, acting and such, and the player takes the role of an audience member who has to direct the stageplay as its director has been incapacitated by the snake folk

I love the idea and the setting I think it's amazingly cute, but I do agree that the balancing might be a bit hard especially due to the random nature of it being a card game combined with the stats that keep decreasing over time. Maybe there could be a few rare cards now and then that would give a big overall net boost to help ~
Amazing job guys! The core loop, style and idea itself are awesome, lots of respect!
Absolutely adore the artwork and happy to see someone else also going for a theatre theming! :)
A card-based auto-runner is a fun idea! I think the edges would benefit from some polishing, though.
First, the UI isn’t great. Stat bars are sort of hard to see and you always have to keep track of what symbol corresponds to what stat. The numbers on the cards were covered by cards to their right. In a turn-based card game, stuff like that would already be not ideal, but in an action-based card game, this is a major annoyance.
Second, balancing seems pretty off right now. Cards seem to have way too many negative effects. Since there’s no other way to get rid of bad cards, they just sort of clog up hand space until I can’t see the new cards anymore. In the end, I tried to just play a run where I did nothing at all and ended with twice the score that I usually got when I actively tried to play well.
In spite of all of these criticisms, I do think the core gameplay works, though! UI needs some work, but can definitely be fixed, and having some better cards and a way to discard / exchange cards would make it a lot more fun to actually play them.
Some more ideas you could try to implement in the long term:
Have two types of cards: Scenes and Actions. Actions work like cards currently do by giving a one-time boost, while scenes would give a small but continous boost while they are active.
Change card draw up a bit. Just playing cards whenever you draw them is not super interesting. Maybe always draw a full hand, then only get a redraw when a certain condition is met. Not exactly sure how to implement that yet, but I’m sort of thinking of something like Wildfrost’s bell counter.
I’d love to see you keep working on this!
Thank you so much for your feedback! 💖
We will keep working on the game postjam and balancing is one of the first things we want to address! There are a lot of things we’ve run out of time to deliver (including quite a bit of cut content), so we’re really excited to give the game the polish it deserves 😊
Looks wonderful!
the gameplay and art is great. Only thing I would add is that it was kind of hard to see the cards and what they did.
The visual style and means by which you've framed the endless runner core gameplay is superb.
I feel the rate at which the bar deplete detracts from the core vibe of the game. Endless runners typically have a slow pace to begin with which climbs over time. I think reducing the rate at which the bars deplete would give you more time to strategize, more time to enjoy the visuals and more time to read the cards.
Overall though this is great fun and a very creative take on both the theme & framing.
Cute rat is cute.
What a cute concept and take on the gamejam theme! Love love LOVEEEE the art-design, super well done!
I love the idea of an endless show with an intermission every 30 minutes so the jester can catch their breath, well done
The art is amazingly cute!! It takes me a couple tries to figure out the macanics.
The art is adorable, but I'm very confused on what the cards mean.
nice art, but i cannot understand what i should to do)
