Nice game and quite a clever take on the "snake" theme ! Finding this lab rat context works really well. It makes you feel trapped and every time a rat dies it makes your heart ache a little.
Nice game! A great reversal on the classic snake game. Well done!
The idea is really clever, and the game was pretty fun to play. The models of mice and snake were really cute, though some simple animations would really add a lot here. Also, very small detail, but I really liked how you told the goal of the game without explicitly spelling it out to the player. Overall, nice entry :)
Wooooow, this is mindblowing! At first I was like, "wait a minute, what?!" , but then I realised how to kill the snake. Cool idea, like the music and in combination with this graphics, mood is really cool.
I did it! only 15 mice had to die! (28 on my first go though haha) Fun game :)
I think your idea is very creative and interesting, I would like to see it polished and with more levels after the Jam, it would certainly be much more entertaining to play
Nice take on the game. took me "only" 21 mice, is that good? :D Well done!
Awesome idea and art. When I was brainstorming ideas this was one of the ideas I considered, but I opted to make retro Asteroids with roles reversed instead. I think this snake idea has a ton of potential, but it is too luck based and there isn't a clear goal. If this was turned into a puzzle game I think it could actually be super awesome. Different levels could have different spawn points, different number of lives, levels have obstacles or different shapes, multiple snakes with different speeds and/or movement patterns, maybe even have special mice with different abilities.
That's a fun concept !
Very luck dependent though, as sometimes you get the mice inside a loop and you win, or sometimes you keep spawning at the opposite side giving the snake all the space it needs, and sometimes you spawn right next to it and die immediately.
I feel like being able to see the next few spawn points and in which order you'll get there would steer the design more towards strategy.
You could potentially have the spawn points and the snake be hand placed to turn it into a puzzle game ! And if you don't get the snake by the time the last mice gets eaten then you lose.
Anyhow I liked it, my best was 13 mice, and my worst was like 35 haha.
Well done, it's fun trying to trap the snake, fits the theme perfectly. My best one was 8 mice.
The visuals are simple enough for a totally readable game. Maybe the snake's movements from tile to tile seem to sudden, making it difficult to understand what really happened at times?
