Simple and well executed, i really like this entry! I would love to see this game polished after the challenge and see its true potential!
I loved how seamless it was to start playing and get right into the action.
Really nit picky but I found the theme kind of conflicted with the gameplay. The way to get a high score fast is to charge the shield at full speed towards every bat but then you end up jerking the hero around, I'm sure he's not having a relaxing holiday.
None the less, very well done, and the sound effects were charming too.
Easy to pick up and play. Fun trying to get a high score but a bit repetitive, i'm sure with more time this could be polished into a very fun time waster. Great job!
Fun gameplay! I love the sound effects
The game is quite fun and is very creative, good job !
Sick idea! I love the take on the theme and the shield dash mechanic is really fun. Great submition! I'd love if you checked my game out too by the way (:
So I think this is nearly great.
I say that cause in my first play through, I was absolutely beaming, quickly darting around the scream while swinging my shield felt great!
unfortunately, after dying and realising moving damages you, the game became way less fun. With the simplistic enemies, it feels like there's no reason to move. Punishing the player for moving has potential, but the way it's implemented here feels bad because going fast in this game feels great.
I'd say revisit this one and see if you can figure out a way to push players into the fun zone.
I actually quite like the really rough aesthetics and sound. The shield literally going "Stop, no, hurt" was really funny when I thought it didn't matter.
right now, the player's only real way of interacting with the game inherently punishes them. I'd be really interested to see how you address that if you decide to keep working on this
Really fun and comic game! I really dig the art style and I loved the little beer in the hero`s hand. The sound effects of the hero were also very cute. Nicely done!
Nice game.
