Cool little project! I havn't seen this idea yet! Some music would be nice.
Some kind of lose condition when you miss too many coins would be nice! And also, slight issue with the controls if you have a controller plugged in, but it went away once I unplugged my controller

Interesting idea. It could definitely use some music and sfx, and adding in some more mechanics or some kind of extra challenge as you go on would help to keep the gameplay from becoming monotonous. Overall not bad tho.
