I like the idea. The character movement was a bit too fast for my taste which made it a bit tricky to control. The music was brilliant :)
Thanks!
The music isn't mine though, the links to the artists are in the description in case you missed it.
I'll keep a note of your criticism of the character controller. This is the first 2D platformer I've made, so the feedback is valuable.
ngl, idk if youve heard of it before, but the sounds sound very similar to this one game called .catmilk
It's awesome how much a piece of wood and a crate can do. This is a very smartly-designed puzzle games. I enjoyed it. The first second levels were fantastic, but after that it was too hard for me lol.
Keep up, I want to see even more levels for the game. And you can add mario-like elements to the controller (how high you jump depends on space-bar hold durations)
Thanks for playing!
I had a lot more planned for the game, since I'm used to week and month long jams, so time time limit caught me off guard. Maybe I'll come back to this at some point (probably not though).
The height of your jump does actually depend on how long you hold the space bar. If you're still ascending and release the space bar your vertical velocity is set to 0. It's just the jump is rather fast, so it's easy to miss.
Nice job! could benefit from finding a way to make positioning/building a little quicker and snappier
I agree 100%. Godot does not. I would probably have to completely redo the base code for the level objects to do that (which wouldn't be the worst thing, that class is horrible, there's a single if statement holding back half a dozen stack overflows).
Thanks for playing!
