Great game concept! Unfortunately I got stuck on level 2 where I couldn't get through the gap between the box and the wall after I died in the 4th level. It's genuinely amazing that you made this without an engine and I bet there's a lot you could teach me about programming as I've only been able to make a texted based snake game with c++. From a design perspective I think there are a few changes you could make to the player to make them more fun to control (main thing I'd say is snapping the player into smaller gaps such as the one I got stuck on). Maybe a little indication of what a rune does as its a bit difficult to tell sometimes from just the sprite. For a game made in 48 hours this is incredible - I know I wouldn't have a game if I did it 48 hours!

And some unity c#, as displayed by my game,

Thanks a lot! And i totally understand that some design aspects of the game are pretty flawed, especially the tight gaps with the boxes (i don't know why i didn't just make the boxes smaller then), i went back and fixed it up and i'm just waiting for the jam to finish so i can upload it.

Cool pixel art style, the music fits the game really nice! Awesome job!

Cool game with a very cohesive style. I like that you can use the runes on other objects as well.

Absolutely insane that you made this with just c (and raylib).

You definitely have a good concept here, I'd be curious to see how far you could push it and what kind of platformer you could make.

I wish that dying in a level would just reset that level, rather than resetting the entire game, since it's a bit of a punch in the gut to have to redo levels you already completed just to die in that same spot again. But otherwise it's fairly well put together. Great work!

Thanks! Also I've updated the game to make it so you don't have to start from the beginning after you die, as well as having added a few more levels, I'm just waiting for the jam to end so i can upload it!

The idea of having objects scale up or down using ruins was very nice, good work!

That character model is my favourite thing ever

Wanted to like this but I can't seem to get past the second level? Every time I scale that box it would fall down and leave a gap that felt impossible to get through. Am I missing something? I tried both fullscreen on web and downloading the game but to no avail :(

Developer

yeah its a bit hard to get through you just gotta try a few times, probably shouldve made the player a bit smaller

Developer

it is possible tho on both web and download just a bit finicky

Oh yeah you're right, got past on my first try this time around. Enjoyed the later levels a lot, well done!
