Congratulations on finishing your game! A few notes:

  • The written instructions were a bit confusing, it may be more beneficial to put more information on-screen during the game. (For example, "Press Space to roll for another piece")
  • Some visual queue that the die is being rolled would be helpful to understand what is happening when you press space. As it is now, it just seems like nothing is happening until another number shows up after a second. That may be why others thought space wasn't working.
  •  Getting a specific kind of platform depending on what number you roll is an interesting mechanic but it took me a couple of minutes to figure out that was happening.
  • I don't know if I was doing something wrong but I could only place new tiles in the three lanes moving up so several of the dice on the screen were unreachable.

Overall, I think it was an interesting concept but because of a lack of on-screen instructions or indications, it was hard to figure out how to play or what the goal was. No matter what the finished product it's impressive just to finish so congratulations!

Thanks for this long description. I'm quite new to development and didn't find a good way to place "blocks". It's probably terrible spaghetti code. It was a tad ambitious with my current skill level meaning the "main mechanic" wasn't developed properly causing the game to be confusing in comparison to the norm. I also didn't know how to add text features while playing to help direct the player. I don't see this game going anywhere but I think I will update it for practice. Thanks for playing !

Gongratulations to your first finished-ish game! Looks cool, but Q E R and space don't work.

It functioned for me correctly for me... Extract the project and double click the "crazy penguins" application (with the unity logo).  Once you click play hit the spacebar and after a couple of seconds the dice will land causing the UI to update. Once you see a number press either q, e, or r to place a block. Once placed you should only be able to place one block. Reroll the dice to get a new number and repeat the process. Hope this helped! If it still doesn't work do you mind sharing your computer thanks.

The graphics look cool, but I couldn't figure out how to play, aside from WASD the other buttons from the game page didn't do anything
