I enjoyed the game! I like those type of puzzle game and I thought this was a nice mix in between Yahtzee and the likes of Bejeweled. Good job!

Improvements:

  • Considering you are using a lot odd and even numbers, it might have been interesting to add colors to the dices.
  • I tried using the parry ability, but since I don't know how much damage I would have received, or when I would have taken the hit, it didn't feel very good.
  • I ended up with a very basic strategy, which was to match only two even number until the monster died (and using big numbers to heal). It could be interesting to add more value to more complex spells which would provide more incentive to take more time before picking the simple patterns.
  • some sound effects / animation could be nice when hitting more complex patterns to reward the player

Thank you for the detailed feedback! 😄 I agree with every point you made: as does happen with game jams, a lot of tweaking and polishing fell by the wayside in the rush to get it finished. Our team thought that the bones of the game were good though, and this comment definitely validates that.

I've enjoyed making this game (and Godot in general) so much that I've been adding features and improvements since the jam ended on my laptop - I'll keep your feedback in mind! I especially like the color suggestion: I could see a lot we could do with that, as long as the board doesn't get too complicated with all the info. Hopefully I'll release the post-jam version someday soon. 🙂

Super complicated with all of the rules.  But I thought it was good game concept.  Nice graphics!

I won t lie the gameplay feel maybe a bit dry, there might be potential but atleast some music during battle may have made the game a little bit more fun
