How does your submission match the theme?
-The hero's pipe wrench can be used to attack other characters, repair pipes to clear the way, defuse mushrooms and repair the hero's health.
-The food item can be given to characters for a positive outcome, as well as eaten by the hero to cure poison.
-The "keep walking" item is not used on the hero, but has a different story result for each character it's used on.

Third-party resources
Construct 2 for the game engine, with the color effects and fonts from there. Art was hand-drawn and then scanned with Evernote, colored green in Krita, and cropped with Windows Photo editor.

There's a beauty in simplicity. For the few minutes I spent with this game, I walked away with a smile on my face. 

Strictly talking about the jam, there's nothing that I'd really call innovative (though that's not necessarily a bad thing). And while the wrench technically does serve more than one purpose, it doesn't really do anything that would encourage the player to use it in multiple ways.
