How does your submission match the theme?
GET OVER IT fits the theme of dual purpose design in several ways:

1. The player is given two controls, with which they can use to not only dodge left and right to avoid falling enemies, but also can slam into the hills on either side of the level, flinging themselves in the air.
2. Once airborne, they can cut above the paths of enemies, killing them but also refilling the player ammo and scoring a point.
3. With ammo refilled, the player has 10 shots that they can use to dispose of further enemies, and the player is able to alter the direction of shooting by moving around the map.

Another subtle nod to Downwell comes at the start of each round, where the player can remain in a safe zone to explore the mechanics first.

The title of the game is a pun but also serves a function in game which requires the player to literally get over the "IT" in the on screen title to start the gameplay sequence (Enemy spawn and reload).

Thanks for taking the time to check the project out and hope you enjoy it!

Very cute, fun game! I included it in my Game Maker Toolkit’s Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Nice juicy entry and the gameplay is really fresh! Feels ready for mobile!

Great!! Simple and challenging! One of my favorites of this jam.
The ""start button"" teaches how to move (clever ;D), but it took me a while to understand how to kill the enemies.

I like that. Took me a while to figure it out, then i realized that the title is a huge hint. The graphics are yummy.
