Is use of third-party assets allowed?

So, if I want to use fonts/sounds/textures made by other people in reasonable amounts and abiding by their license, can I do that?

You are allowed to, as long as you credit properly the original authors somewhere in your game and/or itch page!

Thanks!

The same goes for music and models too. You don't get penalized for using free assets, we just need you to disclose it (and trust me, we'll recognise most of the free ones if you don't ;3 )

Importantly, you *must* not use any music that will flag DMCA. Because all of our entries will be streamed, we are very strict on this part. We don't want an 8hr judging stream demonetized because of this.

There are many excellent free-use audio libraries out there, or you can hop on an asset store and buy some licensable tracks.

I'm not familiar with how DMCA works, but am I in trouble if I used a free-with-attribution track that is also uploaded to youtube? Track in question expicitly allows use on YouTube though: www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8WgUZAi5p0

Yea that's fine, just include the associated attribution on your submission page. ^-^
