I thought the tire mark effect was really neat! Overall the game is pretty good. But just imagine how cool it would be to hear the engine rev, and the tires sqealing when skidding! That's the #1 thing I would add. Thanks for the linux build, btw!

While playtesting I always imagined the game with sound too 😂
But the engine sound is quite harder to make since it can become an annoying loop so I decide not to add any during the jam to focus on the car controls. Next week I might actually dive into this issue since sound effects is a skill I'm urgently in need. 😅
The gamepad controls really helped I think! Now I feel like I lose because I'm just bad at driving and not because I'm struggling use the keyboard xD
Ironically, with the Short On Time theme, some kind of timer (either that you have to beat or that tracks how fast you do it for high scores) would have probably helped this out a bit because although the fuel thing plays well into the theme, I actually found I was more successful when driving like a responsible citizen and checking my map every few intersections lol. (Managed 28/60).
This is extremely good for a first jam entry, and I'm glad you joined and hope to see more games from you in the future :D
The driving mechanics are pretty good but I feel like they should be tweaked a bit. AND... 60 TOKENS!? That's freaking WILD.
