After recently watching several old noir films, I especially appreciate this kind of tropey writing! The punny dialogue really incentivizes the player to proceed and see what the next scene has to offer.
Thanks! I'm glad folks ended up enjoying the writing.
I loved the puns! Also, I was happy to figure out all the clues and beat the game. I agree with some of the other comments about maybe having a sprint or increasing the movement speed a smidge. I was also really hoping to hear some nice swanky hard-boiled background music. Overall, fun little experience.
Yeah, I really wanted to add a soundtrack but couldn't find any public domain stuff that really fit what I was going for. I'll definitely try to find something in the future. And thanks for the comment!
Really fun game. The dialogue was a lovely touch! Would have loved for it to work with controller for more comfortable movement (but this is just personal preference).
Thank you! I think I'll try to add controller support in a future build.
This was really fun! The gameplay is common, but the dialog and the situation was really fun. The mouse sensitivity could've been higher, and a sprint option would've been a godsend, but overall a fun time!
Thanks for the feedback!
Love the dialog! Looking around feels really clunky/slow. It was easy enough to find my way around the mansion, but I think a photo frame or something similar outside a few of the entrances would help the player remember better.
Thanks! And that's a pretty good suggestion. There is a lack of any landmarks in the hallways.
