This is another standard FPS I get to play as well!
All the bright blue and dark red grasses, trees and some detailed textures on these floor tiles and rock terrains sure made the graphics great to look. But the most important thing is, you made cutscenes for the sake of the plot on the starting and ending of the game, and I personally think the FPS perspective cutscenes representation in this game are not inferior to some of the big studios!
Maybe I think the game doesn't quite suit the theme though, I suppose it has something to do with the "saved souls" to fill up the skyblue tree? And the enemy AIs pathfinding is quite direct as they always chase players in their front.(I have experimented the AI pathfinding without navigation node, I know, it's hard to do) At least I have something to do in this game, just that it's somewhat boring, but the music is good to listen and it does fit the plot you want to create.
Anyway, one of the most 'interesting' and beautiful game I have played in this game jam!
I am so confused.
I ended up running backwards while shooting at spirits the whole game. I feel like there should be a better way to “save” the spirits then that but im not finding one. Anything else end up with me dying. So I think the “combat” could use improvement.
There are a bunch of camps dotted about. Is it like a highscore thing, or is there an ending if i save all of them.
There is a flashlight but I am not sure what to do with it.
Also I wish I could skip the cut scene after I have seen it once.
The visuals are pretty and interesting and the sound is really good, it totally gives off a unique vibe. A solid entry for your fist game jam!
Extremely beautiful. Your CGs are very good, but I didn't see the theme clearly either. Very good job
Thank you!, I did mean for the game to be mostly about the tree itself, the more souls you get the bigger the tree becomes, and then you can use it to go up to the next level though because I joined the jam late I didn't have enough time to implement the next level maybe next time :)
Cool little game, I'm quite surprised by how much you managed to get out of simple graphics with particle effects and shaders. The atmosphere was quite nice and gave me that explorative walking simulator vibe.
Thanks a lot! I wasn't sure if it would be good enough for a first time :)
The game opened full screen on my laptop and i couldn't resize it, the button was out of screen. Also sorry, couldnt play it since after pushing the top button that i could see, my game crashed
Sorry to hear that, I did try running it on two more laptops before uploading it, and it worked fine. I'll upload a fix for it after the game jam, thanks for trying :).
Note: The game didn't crash, you probably clicked the quit button
